These closed-back headphones are a great option for those who wish to save money on high-quality headphones. Their soundstage isn't as wide and immersive as open-back models but they still deliver amazing audio high-quality.
These over-ear wireless headphones are comfortable for long listening sessions, and offer a solid level of ANC. The headphones come with a companion application that includes EQ presets and a coiled cord that can be replaced.
HD 600
The classic pair of open-back Sennheiser headphones is one of best in its price category. They have good sound quality, comfort and re-usable parts. They have a large soundstage that accurately portrays instruments and vocals, but some may find that they lack bass. Some listeners might find their slightly bright tone annoying.
The HD 600 is an extremely robust and comfortable, lightweight headphone. Its construction uses a combination of metal, plastic and Velour. The headband is cushioned with foam, and clamps lightly on the ears. The earcups are large and can easily accommodate larger heads. The cable can be removed and replaced with a more long one if required.
These headphones require an amplifier to work properly. The amplifier will make the frequencies more smooth and even and will also reduce distortion. It is also crucial to utilize an audiophile headphone stand, which will keep them from getting damaged by foreign objects. The headphone stand also keeps the cord out of the way. This is good because it's long.
Sennheiser HD600 headphones are perfect for neutral listening and provide precise reproduction of high-resolution audio. The open design and spacious soundstage make them ideal for audio systems at home. The HD 600s are compatible with vinyl, CDs and digital files. They also have an excellent frequency response, and their neodymium magnets produce excellent sound.
The reason the HD 600s didn't score a 10/10 was because they are a bit too bright for some people. However, they are one of the most adored and highly recommended headphones by reviewers. The pair of headphones is a good option for those who want to upgrade their headphones that come with their portable electronic. The price is a little high, but it's well worth it for the quality. The HD 600s are a good investment for anyone who is an audiophile. They are also ideal for those who love classical music because they faithfully reproduce the performance.
HD 650
The HD 650 are an open-back headphone designed for audiophiles. They have a neutral frequency which allows the listener to enjoy all the details in the music without being overpowered by bass or another frequency. They are a great option for mixing engineers who want to be able to hear everything in their mixes and wish to avoid fatigue that can result from listening to headphones with an emphasis on particular frequencies. The HD 650 headphones are also above average in terms of consistency which means that they sound the same no matter the place you put them on or the way you place them. However, they're not as consistent in the treble frequency range, and depending on the position you place them and your ear shape you could experience up to 6dB of variance.
The earpads and headband are made of a soft and comfortable material which makes the HD 650s comfortable for long-lasting sessions. The headband is padded with a good amount of cushion to ensure it doesn't apply excessive pressure on your ears, headphones for running and the large elliptical ear cups can comfortably fit into any shape of ear. The earpads allow plenty of air circulation which prevents your ears from becoming too hot during long listening sessions. The headphone weighs 269g without the cable, making it lightweight enough to wear for a long period of time.
These headphones sport a professional design and are made from premium materials. The headband and earpads are constructed of soft, durable foam and velour. This makes them comfortable even after long listening sessions. The headphones come with a detachable OFC copper cable with low handling noise, sensitivity to sound that is structure-borne and low noise handling. You can use it with high-quality stationary hi-fi gear and mobile devices.
The HD 650 is an amazing pair of headphones. And even though there are other headphones that boast more impressive specs however, their quality of construction and the excellent audio performance make them an excellent choice for anyone who wants to enjoy their music with a true, uncolored soundscape. MOMENTUM
The MOMENTUM range of headphones by Sennheiser is one of the most sought-after active noise canceling (ANC) headphones. With a solid track record and a price point that is affordable, the MOMENTUM 4 Wireless headphones are up against stiff competition from the latest offerings from Bose, Sony, and Apple however, they provide plenty of features that warrant your consideration if you're on the market for ANC headphones.
The ear cups come with quite a lot of padding and are designed to sit comfortably around your ears. They also have soft leatherette material on the top portion of the band that wraps around your head. The band is flexible enough to fit glasses. I found it comfortable for a long time.
Unlike some competing ANC headphones unlike other ANC headphones, unlike other ANC headphones, the MOMENTUM 4 Wireless sound is more balanced than overemphasizing bass or highs. This is a great thing since it offers a more balanced representation of speech and music. They do wander a bit into the realm of boosting at lower frequencies but it's a typical trait among headphones aimed at commuters, where ambient noise is likely to compete with low-level music and speech.
Like other top performers in the ANC category, the MOMENTUM 4 Wireless' noise reduction is very robust. It's not as great as the top ANC headphones in our test however it's close. You can also defer projects by two clicks to the next quarter which makes them a great choice for school or work.
It is possible to connect the MOMENTUM 4 Wireless to a device via Bluetooth and have the option of using SBC AAC, aptX or aptX HD codecs. You can also use the headphone's 3.5mm connector to listen to sources that don't have Bluetooth support.
The MOMENTUM 4 Wireless features an array of microphones that let you make and receive calls. The microphone does a decent job but it's not going to provide the highest quality audio for phone calls. The microphone is still superior to the ones found on many entry-level headphones.
